A recruiter reads your title, your most recent bullets and your stack, then decides. Everything below that is only read if the top third earns it. Put the largest system you owned, its scale and its outcome in the first two bullets, and cut the paragraph of tools that nobody scores you on.
A referred application is read by a person and usually routed to a specific team. A portal application is matched against keywords. Build a list of thirty engineers in target teams, message them with one specific line about their team and one line about the system you own, and treat a twenty percent reply rate as normal.
If your resume reads as a list of assigned tasks, the interviewer forms the objection before you speak. If it reads as a system you designed, debugged and scaled, the objection never forms at all. This is a rewriting problem with a known fix, and it is faster to solve than the interview preparation itself.

Attach the resume only if they ask for it. Do not send a paragraph about your job search or a generic request to be referred anywhere. Specific and short converts; long and generic gets ignored.
Often yes. A mid-tier product company or a capability centre changes what your resume says about you and removes the screening objection entirely for the next move. Two switches over three years frequently reach a better outcome than eighteen months of rejected applications to companies that were never going to read the profile in its current form.

Cloud or platform certifications can help when the target role explicitly asks for them, but they do not substitute for evidence of owned systems and they will not clear a data structures round.
