Lead with migration, not with modules
Module depth is what SAP recruiters read and what cloud recruiters skip. What translates is the migration record: landscape design, environment strategy, cutover planning, rollback windows, and coordinating a business that cannot be offline. Rewriting your history around those responsibilities makes you legible to a cloud hiring manager immediately.
Close the infrastructure fundamentals deliberately
SAP work often sits above the infrastructure layer, with hosting handled by another team. Cloud roles ask about virtual networks, private connectivity, identity federation, storage tiers and cost models. These need explicit study rather than absorption. We schedule them and test with scenarios, since this is the layer where interviews expose the gap.
Use Basis or integration work as the bridge
If you have touched Basis administration, interface design, or middleware, that is your fastest route in. System copies, transport paths, connectivity troubleshooting and interface monitoring are operational infrastructure skills under a different name. Functional consultants without that exposure usually need a hosted workload of their own to build equivalent evidence.
